IANA assigns TCP port 21337 to Xahau

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) has officially assigned TCP port 21337 to the Xahau network daemon (xahaud). The corresponding UDP port has been reserved for future use.

While IANA registration does not imply endorsement, it represents Xahau’s formal inclusion in the global service and transport registry that underpins Internet interoperability. This ensures that traffic related to the Xahau network can now be identified by name, not just by number, in firewalls, monitoring systems, and network software across operating systems.

For network operators and developers, the assignment provides a standard reference for configuration and compliance, simplifying deployment across infrastructures that rely on strict port-based filtering and visibility. It is a small but meaningful part of Xahau’s path toward being a well-documented, standards-aligned open network.

For the Inclusive Financial Technology Foundation (InFTF), this milestone underscores a commitment to responsible, standards-based engineering. Such quiet, foundational steps contribute to a predictable, transparent, and well-integrated network ecosystem.
