A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the African Union (AU) and the Inclusive Financial Technologies Foundation (InFTF) to advance the work of the AU Peace Fund through the deployment of cutting-edge innovative financial technologies. This collaboration will unlock new pathways for contributions, making it easier and more accessible for individuals and organizations to support peace initiatives in Africa.
Key highlights of the partnership:
- Developing a seamless donation platform using the advanced Xahau network, enabling contributions in multiple currencies
- Engaging the African Diaspora to rally support for the AU Peace Fund’s peace related initiatives
- Coordinating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives from multinational companies to support African peace efforts
- Creating systems for all Africans and friends of Africa to contribute directly to peace initiatives across the continent.
This partnership led by InFTF team, including Mr. Bharath Chari, Management Board Member, Dr.-Ing. Getahun Mekuria, Advisor, African Region and Mr. Thomas Silkjær, and AU Peace Fund Secretariat Director, Dagmawit Moges represents a significant step forward in expanding the reach and impact of the AU Peace Fund, paving the way for inclusive, transparent, and sustainable peace financing.
We look forward to sharing updates as we work together to transform peace financing avenues and empower communities to actively contribute to a peaceful and prosperous Africa.
